Luggybrook Cottage nestles in a peaceful little valley,
standing in 5 acres of meadows and woodland near the market town of Welshpool,
close to the Shropshire border. We moved
here on retirement - Children are grown up with homes of their own, and our family now consists of our much loved dogs,
along with a small flock of Jacob sheep and Lizzie our little Miniature
Horse. We found the cottage standing empty and neglected some six years ago,
totally fell in love with it and have been working on it ever since.
We
have always been involved with animals.
When I was younger my mother and I bred and showed whippets, and before
retirement I worked in our local veterinary practice. Gerald, a retired Customs Officer, is also a farmer's son with a deep love and
interest in stock and a keen eye for conformation.
Before
moving here we had a small stud farm competing at major shows throughout the
country with our stock, and we feel that no website would be complete without
including some of the very special ponies that made our hopes and dreams come
true.
We
now enjoy a quiet rural existence far removed from the cut and thrust of the
show circuit, and our Schnauzers are our friends and companions.
Nevertheless
we have always taken a pride in our stock and still apply exactly the same
breeding policy using good bloodlines and sparing no expense in the rearing of our puppies. The dogs share our home and enjoy the freedom to run and play in
our five acres of land and are all very fit, resulting in happy healthy
puppies, and the heart-warming feedback we receive brings us just as much
pleasure as the accolades we gained with our ponies in the show ring! !
